Be part of our initiative for greener company mobility! Our carpooling platform reduces car mileage and offers employees from various partner companies a convenient ride. Together, we can protect the environment and reduce traffic congestion.
The use of carpooling can not only help reduce traffic and reduce pollution, but also provide a cost-effective and convenient alternative to owning a car or using public transportation, especially for longer distances and regular trips.
We support you in organizing your trips with a weekly trip calendar, which helps you to plan your trips.
With the chat function you can communicate with your fellow passengers and clarify details of the trip or arrange trips for the future.
You can be additionally rewarded for active use of the app via contests.
"Since I've been riding along, I get to and from work feeling relaxed."
"'Stuttgart fährt mit' is a fair solution for people and the climate."
"I find the exchange with other colleagues great."
"Without my own vehicle, I am also mobile through the platform."
"Stuttgart fährt mit" is a carpooling application, explicitly for the commute to work and back. Simply register with your company location. If your company does not yet participate, please get in touch via the contact form. In order for you to register, your company has to sign a partner contract with us. The use of the application is free for you as a user.
If you would like to drive your own car, you can create an offer. To ride with someone else, you create a request. As a passenger, you can find and request drivers, but not vice versa. As soon as the driver has accepted the request, your trip is confirmed and you can chat with each other conveniently via the RideBee app, e.g. to discuss the exact departure time and meeting point.
For using "Stuttgart fährt mit" there are no commission costs. The goal is to distribute the vehicle costs fairly among the participants. In order to do so we suggest a price, which incorporates two things: the distance of the individual passengers to the destination and the length of the detour for the driver. The usual price is 10-15 cents per kilometer. Drivers can also offer their rides for free.
At "Stuttgart fährt mit", users can exchange the propose price either in cash upon ride completion or use a digital payment system that automatically handles the payment.
No. "Stuttgart fährt mit" is deliberately designed so that for each ride you can meet the partner who is going in the same direction at the right time.
No. "Stuttgart fährt mit" works on a peer-to-peer basis. Since we do not employ any drivers, we cannot guarantee that you will find a match. However, this also implies that there is no territorial restriction on entering rides. From experience, we recommend that you organise your trip 12 to 48 hours in advance.
Yes, all passengers are insured against damage to property and personal injury up to 2.5 million euros via the driver's motor vehicle liability insurance. Hence, an additional passenger insurance is not necessary. The liability of the employers' liability insurance association (Berufsgenossenschaft) on the way to work also applies to a carpool - and also on the detour when picking up a passenger. The insurance company does not have to be informed about the fact that you will be carpooling regularly from now on.
In the case of the commuting allowance, a total of only €4,500 per year can be deducted for all days on which one participates free of charge as a passenger. If the users follow the proposed cost compensation of RideBee, this limit does not apply. A pecuniary advantage, as for example with a company car, does not exist. The person driving can apply the commuting allowance without restriction. However, earnings generated from a carpool are other income (§ 22 No. 3 EStG). They are taxable if they amount to 256 euros or more per year (= exemption limit).
If you are already part of a carpool, you can use "Stuttgart fährt mit" to find more passengers to further reduce costs or when your original partner is on vacation. In addition, "Stuttgart fährt mit" offers functionalities that simplify the daily organization of your carpool: The group chat and calendar are already implemented, we are currently working on other features.
No. To make it easier for you to plan and create trips, you can also setup recurring trips and match on multiple days at once.
By default, we calculate the optimal route to pick up each passenger at home and the corresponding pick-up times. The desired arrival or departure time of the driver is always the agreed timing. If he does not want to drive a detour, the driver can also define fixed waypoints at which the passengers can get on.
If you do not find the driver you are looking for directly, you will receive a notification by email and push notification as soon as we have a suitable option for you. The same applies when a request is confirmed or you receive a message.
Via the so-called iCal standard, users can subscribe to all their upcoming events and see them in their private and work calendar.
Through activity on the platform and profile completions you can level up and unlock new profile icons and names. You can find a detailed explanation here:
The "Stuttgart fährt mit" project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport (BMDV) as part of the Clean Air Emergency Program and is part of the Green City Master Plan, the "Sustainable and Innovative Mobility in Stuttgart" action plan and the climate mobility plan of the state capital Stuttgart. The aim of the project is to develop and roll out a cross-company platform for carpooling. This should contribute to a reduction in traffic congestion and air pollution, as well as an overall positive impact on the environment through lower CO₂ emissions.
